logo

Draconians.

I see there's a bit of disagreement over the logo. Ok firstly sorry for not replying sooner because i was out the whole day and just got back. First thing i got to ask was where aere all these suggestions when we asked for them? We made it known clearly in many posts and e-mails that we needed suggestions for both the t-shirt and the house crest and even went out to putting a cash reward on it and yet we did not get as many responses or variations as we'd hoped to get.

I too, like many people, want a cool logo that i know people will be proud to wear on their shirts and that will stand the test of time. There are a few reasons why some of the designs given were rejected. Firstly, internet pictures were not used because of copyright issues. I have looked through a number of them myself and i have also seen a number of those very same images on other t shirts myself hence they were rejected. Anyone can print out an internet picture on a t shirt these days and that has been done to some of the designs.

Some of the hand-drawn designs were also good and were considered by us but we ourselves were given restrictions. These included only being printed on an A5 size on the shirt, had to be stylised and being of only 1 colour. A number of earlier designs by other houses were rejected as well if you must know too.

The internet pictures collected also served in a way as a guide and somethat inspiration for us to build on. Also, i delayed us by over a week past the initial dateline given to me for submission hoping to get some good suggestions. The design in its eventuality was also not a single days work but something that took a few days to complete before we actually put it up. The logo itself is supposed to represent a dragon and in roughly the shape of a D for Draco. Similarly, a dragon head was not chosen because it would be very similar to that of one of the other houses. The yellow was picked as a colour was because it is almost the opposite colour of blue in the spectrum and make our design stand out instead of a plain white that is used by everyone. Shirt is going to be the blue shown in the background and yellow gives it a more royal look. This design was looked at by some people and they agreed that it was ok before submission.

Right now, it would not be possible to change the logo as it has already been sent to the suppliers by SSD. A change in colour MAY be possible but is not guaranteed if it is a general consensus to change. I would still like to take this chance to thank Jade and the designers who helped with the ideas and suggestions for the logo.
